Crotone Cruise Port: A successful month of sailing comes to an end
The rich calendar of sailing events that put Crotone at the heart of the national scene came to a close on 22 March, once again confirming the city’s pivotal role in the world of water sports.
For over ten days, Crotone’s waters hosted top-level competitions, attracting hundreds of athletes, coaches and families from across Italy. These events showcased the area, enhancing its sporting excellence, tourism appeal, and overall image.
From 12 to 15 March, the second stage of the Italia Cup, ILCA class took place, featuring some of Italy’s top sailors. This was followed from 19 to 22 March by the Interzonal Selection, Optimist class, a key event for young sailors from southern Italy who are aiming to qualify for the European and World Championships.
The organisation, led by the Club Velico Crotone, demonstrated the area’s ability to successfully host complex, high-profile national events and the high quality of the racing field.
