Crotone Cruise Port

Crotone and its province are located in one of the most fascinating territories of Calabria, in the southern tip of the Italian boot. It boasts many naturalistic, historical and cultural riches, enjoyable all year round thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate that gives it temperate winters, hot summers and rainfall mainly concentrated in autumn.

Enclosed between the clear waters of the Ionian Sea and the green woods of its parks, the city of Crotone is located in one of the most fascinating territories of Italy, those of the Calabria region.

The port of Crotone was born at the beginning of the eighth century BC, when the city was founded by Greek colonists as new polis of Magna Graecia and soon activated intense commercial exchanges with the motherland, already then becoming a strategic point in the Mediterranean routes. Its great success was also thanks to Pythagoras, the famous Greek philosopher who decided to move from Greece to create here his own school.

International Coastal Cleanup Day

Crotone Cruise Port took part in Global Ports Holding’s (GPH) worldwide initiative for International Coastal Cleanup Day. Under the banner “From Every Port, For Every Coast,” participants gathered at Playa Spearfishing Crotone, together with the Municipality of Crotone, to contribute to cleaner coasts and emphasize the importance of protecting our marine ecosystem.

Today starts the first Familiarization Trip of Crotone that, as the name says, allows the invited cruise lines to get familiar with the city and its surroundings, all organized by Crotone Cruise Port.
